Mexico Tickets

I’ve ordered my flight tickets to Oaxaca, Mexico for 780 euro’s! To get the price that low I have to stop twice during the flight; in Newark (EWR) and in Houston (IAH). And I’ll be leaving from Brussel (BRU) instead of Amsterdam.

Anyhow I’m really looking forward to it, and so is my travel companion ;) In Oaxaca there are many sights to be visited and ofcourse the ancient Zapotec temples in Monte Albán and Mitla. Besides that we’re also going to visit Puerto Escondido to see the beautiful beaches and Mexico City for a glimpse of the Mexican culture.

Bitcoin Club

Since a month or two I got into reading about and trading with Bitcoin, a peer-to-peer currency. A few weeks down the road I joined the Bitcoin IRC-channels and made some connections with other Dutch people interested in Bitcoin. At the time it seemed there was no website out there keeping track of all the Dutch Bitcoin news in the media. So I registered a new domain and setup a WordPress blog at [discontinued].

The Bitcoin Club site will be updated with news and articles related to Bitcoin in the Dutch media. We’ll also try to write some articles ourselves about the background of Bitcoin, or the current market or any other interesting news. If you’re interested in Bitcoin watch the Youtube video below.

So, welcome to my blog! My name is Alexander van der Kolk.

I currently reside in Roosendaal, the Netherlands. For a living I work as a Software Engineer for Logica, a world-wide IT and management consultancy company. This blog gives me the opportunity to share some thoughts about my projects, travels and other interests. It will provide a means for people to get to know something about me and my experiences. It will also contain a project archive and a travel summary to see what I’ve done in the past and where I’m currently working on.

In the past I’ve tried to maintain this site using my own scripts, however it became tiresome to update it with content. Switching to proven technology is probably a better decision than to stay running it on my own. It will make my life easier and give me more spare-time to work on projects and have fun!

So far this welcome message, cheers!
