So, welcome to my blog! My name is Alexander van der Kolk.

I live in Roosendaal in the Netherlands. Just graduated as of summer 2008 as Bachelor of Computer Science. I graduated at the Academy for ICT and Media in the field of Media Technology in Breda. For a living I now work as a Junior Game Programmer at Playlogic Game Factory the in-house game-studio for Playlogic Entertainment, a world-wide games publishing company.

This blog gives me the opportunity to share some thoughts about my work, the industry and my interests. Also it provides a means for people to get to know something about my work and experiences sofar. And also a portfolio and image gallery to see what I've done in the past and where I'm currently working on.

Interests

• PC & Console Games

  I'm not tied to a genre or platform. I enjoy games aslong as they are original, have a good story, fascinate me in the way it works or are just good for wasting time. Some examples of games I really dig: World of Warcraft, Little Big Planet, Prince of Persia series, Grand Theft Auto series and Warcraft III.

• Card & Boardgames

  I've activly played Magic: The Gathering a few years back and I still enjoy a regular game from time to time. With some friends we even setup a non-profit organisation called TrefpuntMagic, we organize Magic: The Gathering tournaments and regular Board Game events for a wide audiance.
